Design: Bodil Bødtker-Næss
The placemat’s iconic motif celebrates Christmas as the season of goodwill and is a nostalgic signature design in the damask collection. The classic placemats are equally as suitable for creating Christmas atmosphere in everyday life as they are for Advent celebrations and Christmas parties – and they are now available in the most gorgeous of greys.
In Winter Grey, the placemats take on an especially elegant look when the muted grey tones of the winter sky meet in the iconic design. The shade forms an ideal backdrop for Christmas ornaments of various shapes and shades, from natural materials, snow-white tones and golden brass to this year’s trending colours. Matching napkins complete the look.
The placemat’s motif was designed by Bodil Bødtker-Næss, who was in the inner circle of textile artists around Georg Jensen in the 1970s and who was also the artist responsible for the classic Easter design from the same period. The braided Christmas hearts and stylised spruce twigs have represented the quintessence of Christmas spirit for more than 40 years, and the design is an indispensable part of Christmas in many homes.
The design is also available as
