A refined placemat that invites winter to sit down at the table in the shape of finely stylised snowflakes. The interpretation of the snowflake’s geometry is so strict however, that the placemat can also be used at other times of the year to enhance the atmosphere.

Textile artist Jette Nevers, who has also designed several other geometrical textile patterns for Georg Jensen Damask, designed the SNOWFLAKES placemat. Inspired by the purity of the snowflake and the tranquil existence of the world, she has created a design that creates calm on the table through its simplicity and rigorous expression. The oval shape of the placemat softens its geometrical pattern.

The intense depth of the Blue Abyss colour enhances the uncluttered design and allows the snowflakes to shine forth like stars in the evening sky. This is a distinguished and exclusive placemat that doesn’t require a specific style of décor, but is completed by laying the table with accessories according to mood, season and meal.

The SNOWFLAKES design is also available as tablecloths and table runners. Matching napkins woven in linen complete the expression.

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
