We recommend that you unfold the product completely before washing, and avoid overfilling the washing machine. The product is stretched gently after washing.
We recommend hang drying of the placemats, as this provides a smooth result.
Be sure to follow the washing instructions as washing at precisely 60°C makes the cotton open up and be washed clean. A lot of people believe they protect the placemats by washing them at 40°C, but the products are made to withstand a higher temperature.
Design: Bodil Bødtker-Næss
The iconic motif on the placemat celebrates Christmas as the season of goodwill and is a nostalgic signature design. With its 50% linen and 50% cotton damask weave, this rustic placemat is a timeless renewal for the countless moments of Christmas cheer around the table.
Bodil Bødtker-Næss, who was one the inner-circle of textile designers at Georg Jensen Damask in the 1970s, designed the motif. She was also responsible for the classic Easter design from the same period. The braided Christmas hearts and stylised spruce twigs have represented the quintessence of Christmas atmosphere for more than 40 years and the design is an essential part of Christmas in many Danish homes.
The subdued blue gives this rustic placemat a modern look and makes it a beautiful alternative for laying an intimate Christmas table in slightly more unconventional colours. Napkins in linen or damask accentuate the unique expression. Size 50 x 38.
