Design: Bent Georg Jensen

This is a classic tea towel with harmonic stripes as its bearing design element. Woven from a strong linen and cotton combination providing optimal drying capacity.

The ABILD design was created by weaver and textile engineer Bent Georg Jensen, who as well as being at the forefront of Georg Jensen Damask for many years, was also a driving force in design development. The vertical, striped pattern is a design icon within the damask collection. The design is beautiful in itself but also when combined with other patterns or plain-coloured tea towels.

Shades of blue and greyish brown have been chosen for the Deep Blue colour, which almost turn into denim, giving a subdued, rustic expression. This tea towel fits just as nicely in the country kitchen as it does in the modern kitchen.

The EGYPT kitchen towel in the colours Jet Black and Deep Blue both match the ABILD tea towel Deep Blue.

The size of the tea towel is 50 x 80 cm.

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
