Children’s table

Watch the movie and find inspiration for setting a festive children’s table for a birthday or maybe the day of christening. Lay the table on the H.C. Andersen tablecloth with woven motifs from the fairy tales and let kids' imaginations explore the magical universe of H.C. Andersen. The tablecloth is among our oldest designs in the collection - and dated back to 1928, when architect Knud V. Engelhardt began working on the tablecloth, and which Inger Blegvad Klint finished in 1951.

The table is festively decorated with balloons, popcorn, confetti and a BRIO model railroad where the train carries small boxes of raisins around the table to all the little guests. When setting a children's table it is a good idea to choose colours that are similar to the candles, napkins and decorations in general.

In our decoration of the table, we chose pastels, which are suitable for both boys and girls. Often you just need a few things to create a cosy atmosphere, but volume is a good idea. You can never get too much confetti or too many balloons for a children’s birthday.

Have fun - and a great party.

To set the table you need:

•  H.C. ANDERSEN tablecloth in the colour Gardenia
•  Napkins  in the colour Gardenia
• BRIO model railroad and train sets
• Raisin boxes
• Candlesticks and coloured candels

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
