THE GREAT BIG CHRISTMAS CLASSIC

Christmas is a special time that calls for Christmas spirit throughout the home, especially in your table setting.
On our inspiration page you will find inspiration for how you can set your table with the evocative design of Christmas.
The iconic tablecloth designed by Bodil Bødtker-Næss has been a special favourite on the Christmas table since 1975.
With the pleated Christmas hearts, stylised spruce twigs and simple design, the tablecloth has become a signature piece in the collection.
Over the years, the tablecloth been launched in several new colours, but the original Christmas red still has a special place in many people’s hearts.
Bodil Bødtker-Næss created the Christmas pattern at a time when tablecloths often had religious motifs. The design consists of evocative Christmas hearts
and spruce twigs branches in a stylised pattern that highlights Christmas as the celebration of hearts.
The two-dimensional shapes of the spruce twigs form a frame for the familiar Christmas heart – a motif that has become synonymous with Christmas for many people.
In the original colour combination of gold and red, the tablecloth radiates warmth and light, and its distinctive design frames the table in many homes.

CHRISTMAS DESIGN

Over the years, the iconic design of the CHRISTMAS TABLECLOTH has been extended to placemats, table runners
and Christmas tree rugs, so your Christmas table doesn’t necessarily have to be set with a tablecloth.
The various different designs make it easier to create a common theme throughout your home at Christmas.
The popular motif inspires nostalgia and memories – whatever form it’s presented in.
As a finishing touch, we have made sure that you can get napkins and candles in the same colours as our Christmas design to beautifully complete your table setting.

PLACEMATS FOR WEEKDAYS IN DECEMBER

Placemats are often on the table during the week, when they act as a stylish alternative to a tablecloth.
They are practical because they can be washed quickly and easily, as well as being decorative for any occasion.
The placemats protect the table without covering it completely and they create an entirely different look to the more formal tablecloth.
Their many favourable properties have meant that over time, we have launched several of our most iconic tablecloths as placemats – the CHRISTMAS PLACEMATS are just one of these designs.
With their clear reference to Christmas, the placemats are equally suited to Christmas fun on weekdays as they are to the year’s Christmas parties.

CHRISTMAS DINNER FOR TWO

Bodil Bødtker-Næss’ iconic Christmas motif has also been launched as a stylish table runner.
The table runner is decorative in itself, and lets you set your table while leaving parts of it visible.
If you want a more formal look, the table runner can be used on top of a classic white tablecloth.
The CHRISTMAS TABLE RUNNER works both across and along the table, and you can easily use multiple table runners together, depending on your table setting.
A Christmas table runner makes it’s easy to create a stylish table setting that can be completed with decorative cloth napkins.

CHRISTMAS TREE RUG – A MODERN CLASSIC

The CHRISTMAS TREE RUG is a long-awaited addition to the damask collection.
The stylish rug is a decorative layer to go underneath the Christmas tree, and will quickly become a Christmas design tradition.
Inspired by the CHRISTMAS TABLECLOTH’s familiar pattern, the Christmas tree rug is an evocative feature that brings both warmth and happiness into the home. The rug has been designed with a strong focus
on quality as well as design that will last for many years, eventually becoming a traditional feature of the Christmas season.
