Hand-drawn bedding by Andreas Engesvik

Georg Jensen Damask launches a new colour to the BY HAND bedding designed by Norway’s most prominent designer, Andreas Engesvik. The bedding collection adds itself to the collection carrying the same name of tablecloths, runners and place mats launched a few years ago. The beautifully damask woven textile features an elegant pattern of hand-drawn lines featuring the aesthetics of everyday life.

The linear squares are originally drawn by a pencil and cleverly weaved by skilled craftsmen into a 100% Egyptian cotton textile. BY HAND bedding launches in Jade Green, besides the existing colours White and Navy Blazer, and includes duvet covers and pillow cases in several sizes.

How to get the boutique hotel feeling in the bedroom

There is something about stepping into a boutique hotel. Here are some easy tweaks guaranteed to turn your abode into a restful retreat. The first step to duplicating that clean yet comfy feel of a super luxe hotel is to embrace minimalism. Therefore, get rid of all the clutter in the bedroom. Great bedding is another ingredient for a comfy hotel sheets feeling. Opt for high quality bedding textiles in Egyptian cotton. Finally, don’t underestimate the importance of mood lighting and fresh flowers.

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
