Georg Jensen Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a modern design and textiles company with a classic Scandinavian aesthetic. We have distribution agreements in 13 countries, online sales to the entire world, and four Danish Georg Jensen Damask stores which are located in Kolding, Aarhus, Odense and Hellerup respectively.
We always maintain high standards for both the quality and functionality of our textiles, and for this reason, we work closely with just a few selected suppliers. Our textiles are woven primarily in Europe, with a few being woven in India. We work with weaving mills which are family-owned, just like we are, because we feel that it fosters a closer relationship. In our partnerships, we also have a strong focus on environmental considerations and the human rights which are the basic principles underlying the UN Global Compact.

ABOUT US

Design and collaborations

Collections are always based on our DNA and Scandinavian design traditions. They primarily comprise textiles and accessories for the four most important rooms in any home: the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom. With a focus on aesthetics and functionality, we create simple and timeless designs which are also of contemporary relevance. Our internal design team works closely with other designers and weavers, each of whom add something unique to our collection.

PURVEYOR TO THE ROYAL COURT OF DENMARK
Over the years we have been involved in many exciting projects with the Danish monarchy, and we are proud of our appointment as Purveyor to the Royal Court of Denmark, which testifies to long-term, regular trade with the Danish monarchy.

DONATIONS

World Childhood ‎Foundation

At Georg Jensen Damask, we have a fundamental desire to make a difference where we can. Based on our world of textiles, we have therefore taken part in a number of significant donation projects over the years. Currently, our focus is on two projects:

WORLD CHILDHOOD FOUNDATION
H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden founded the World Childhood Foundation in 1999, in co-operation with 14 family foundations, private individuals and companies, all of whom wanted to protect children's rights to a safe and secure childhood. Today, H.M. Queen Silvia is honorary chair of the board and continues her commitment to the work of preventing child abuse.
To support the World Childhood Foundation, H.M. Queen Silvia decided to allow the design of her personal Easter tablecloth to be put into production for the benefit of the Foundation. The tablecloth is therefore exclusively woven to support the Foundation’s work in preventing child abuse. For each tablecloth sold, the World Childhood Foundation will receive a donation of DKK 750.

Handloom Development programme

Quality craftsmanship is the foundation of every product in our collection. It is important to us to support the art of weaving so that we can help keep the craft alive. Since 2013, we have collaborated with a small Indian, family-owned weaving mill in Karur on several designs – most recently, our handwoven PUK napkins.
Our collaboration with the weaving mill anchors in a common passion for the art of weaving. Hand weaving is a difficult discipline, and few people fully master the technique. The family-owned weaving mill therefore offers a unique kind of craftsmanship with roots in an ancient tradition.
Any time you purchase our hand-woven PUK napkins, we continue to support the training of weavers at the little weaving mill in Karur to secure the future of this precious craft. We also cover health and life insurance for the weavers.
