Design: Susanne Nors

Soft and amazing dishcloth in luxurious cotton quality and an amazing dusty blue colour. To achieve a unique drying capacity, the dishcloth is knitted in a special honeycombed pattern that creates small pockets for the water. Another important detail is that the dishcloth is easy to wring and does not leave any streaks on the wiped surface.

The Dusty Blue colour is both practical and stylish and is inspired by a maritime universe that gives the dishcloth a soft Nordic expression. The fine, laced border in the same dusty blue colour underscores that the NORS dishcloth is pure everyday luxury that spreads beauty and joy when used.

The design is by Susanne Nors who is a weaver in the traditional sense of the word. The dishcloth was developed in close collaboration with Georg Jensen Damask in a joint exploration of textile craftsmanship. Susanne Nors has immersed herself into each single thread with a focus on twills and qualities to create a timeless, functional design inspired by historic techniques. From the exquisite NORS dish towel in 100% cotton to the NORS dishcloth where the pattern dissolves the feeling of plain and purl by looking beautiful from both sides.

Also see the NORS dish towel that combines aesthetics, functionality, and originality just like the dishcloth.

The size of the dishcloth is 27 x 27 cm.

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
