Design: Susanne Nors

A beautiful, diced weave dish towel in luxurious cotton quality and a beautiful blue-grey lavender colour. NORS dish towels have a loose woven structure, which makes them extra soft and exquisite, as well as giving them a better drying capacity. A born classic for the kitchen.

Lavender revokes the beautiful blue-grey colour of fields of lavender under French skies. The colour has a classic, toned down expression and is combined with a white and dark blue thread for a composition that highlights the structure and weave of the dish towel. The result as a little woven work of art that spreads beauty and joy when used.

The design is by Susanne Nors who is a weaver in the traditional sense of the word. The dish towel was developed in close collaboration with Georg Jensen Damask in a joint exploration of textile craftsmanship. Traditionally, all dish towels have been damask-woven using a mixture of linen and cotton, but Susanne Nors has immersed herself in every single thread. By focusing on bindings and qualities, she has created a dish towel with the same exclusive quality and drying capacity as pure cotton.

Also see the NORS dishcloth that combines aesthetics, functionality, and originality just like the dish towel.

The tea towel measures 50 x 80 cm.

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
