Design: Bent Georg Jensen

Classic blue-toned bedding of best damask quality in Egyptian cotton and a completely simple design that lights up the bedroom like the northern lights in the sky. The organic forms of this natural phenomenon have been translated to a refined and timeless pattern that creates a divine calm and helps going to sleep.

In Grey Blue the bedding revokes the eternity of space and lets the northern lights dance on a blue-grey background as if it were the night sky itself. The colour has an inherent lightness and harmonic radiance that, in combination with the classic design, makes the bedding extremely well-suited to create a hotel atmosphere at home in the bedroom. The exclusive feeling of hotel luxury can be further underscored with extra pillowcases in some of the other colours of the NORTHERN LIGHTS collection.

The NORTHERN LIGHT design was created in 1991 by weaver and textile engineer Bent Georg Jensen, who at the forefront of Georg Jensen Damask for many years, also was a driving force in design development. NORTHERN LIGHT is a part of the extensive design heritage that Bent Georg Jensen left behind in the world of textiles. Like many others of his designs, it appears classic and almost inevitable at the same time as it is innovative and modern in its clean sobriety.
A Georg Jensen Damask sheet in a solid canvas weave completes the expression.

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
