This wine tablecloth is the perfect gift for any lover of wine. The detailed map allows you to go on a journey of discovery to some of the world’s most famous winegrowing regions. You can use the decorative map to learn more about your favourite wines and regions, which will provide plenty of input for conversations between lovers of wine, during wine tasting and dinners. You can easily find the exact château or vineyard from which the wine in your glass originates from and thereby learn more about its region and composition.

This tablecloth is for the wine enthusiast who likes to enjoy the magnificent Nebbiolo wines from the Barbaresco region of Piedmont. If names such as Pajore, Fausoni and Cotta inspire you to get out your wine glass, then this is the tablecloth for you. The map was meticulously drawn by the renowned cartographer Alessandro Masnaghetti and shows all of the individual vineyards that are DOCG-classified under the Barbaresco region. The colours on the map illustrate which vineyards are classified as individual vineyards and thus their lines of demarcation. They are further divided according to the towns they belong to and this is described in the key to the signs on the tablecloth.

The map has been designed and printed to fit the centre of the table so that the entire map is visible. The wine tablecloths were developed in collaboration with Marie Von Ahm, who is a wine expert and consultant for a large number of international wine brands. The tablecloth is jacquard woven in Egyptian cotton and subsequently digitally printed and surface treated to withstand dirt and liquids.

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
