Rikke Hagen

Rikke Hagen (born 1970) graduated from the Danish Design School in 1998, and she has a Masters degree in design from KADK (The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts) in 2013. From 1998 to 2008, Rikke Hagen owned a unique glass workshop, where she produced her own limited editions of the glass. In 2004, as the demand for Rikke Hagen’s product design continued to rise, Rikke took the first steps towards establishing her design studio "copen hagen" – today called HAGEN etc.  Rikke Hagen develops her own designs and works with product development for companies such as Holmgaard and Normann Copenhagen.  In 2008, she presented her first product line at the internationally recognized trade show Maison de Object fair in Paris.

The Danish designer Rikke Hagen feels most comfortable at the intersection between design and craftsmanship. This is where ideas come to life - when created in a constructive dialogue between the designer and manufacturer. She works with a great focus on the design process, from the very idea through concept building to the final product.

Rikke Hagen has received a wide range of prestigious awards in her career as a designer.

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
