Sometimes we need external input, ideas and angles – whether they apply to a table setting for a special celebration or to our home decor. Sometimes new perspectives can make ideas germinate and initiate the creative process.
We love to inspire because we are constantly inspired by others – by those with classic styles and by those who invite us to see celebrations and traditions in new colours and shapes.
Beauty is often found in the details, which is why we spend a long time and much deliberation on every design. A lot of thought goes into every decision, and we work passionately to develop textiles that will remain relevant, functional and not least beautiful for many years to come. Durability and quality are the key words; if a design is not executed in high quality, it won’t survive for long enough to create joy.
Here on our inspiration page we want to introduce you to our exciting design collaborations, all of which are based on a shared passion for good craftsmanship and timeless design with a long service life. We work with some of Scandinavia’s top designers, weavers and architects. The designers each bring something unique to our collection, and they are carefully chosen so that we can rely on a common understanding of our DNA, values and long history.
Using external designers is a natural part of our Scandinavian design philosophy, all the way back to 1920 when we initiated our first design collaboration with the architect Knud V. Engelhardt. He designed our weaver bird logo and began working on the H.C. ANDERSEN tablecloth, which was completed by Inger Blegvad Klint after his death.
