Design Arne Jacobsen

This is a range of elegant baby and junior bed linen in a classic design by the iconic architect Arne Jacobsen. The simultaneously stringent and organic pattern is a geometric play with the Greek letter upsilon, which will wrap the children in quality design and exquisite quality from their earliest age.

The motif originates from Arne Jacobsen’s hidden sketches that were discovered by Tobias Jacobsen, the grandson of the world-renowned architect. Collaboration with Georg Jensen Damask has resulted in this beautiful design from the 1950s becoming incorporated on the YPSILON bed linen range, which celebrates the design legacy of Arne Jacobsen through its lightness and harmony.

The Grey YPSILON bedding is a delicate addition to the children’s bedroom where the grey tones make it equally suitable for small boys and girls and creates a space for toys in all possible colours. The expression is completed by a Georg Jensen Damask baby and junior sheet in a solid canvas weave.

The YPSILON design is also available for adults.

There is also a series of tablecloths, table runners and place mats, similarly derived from Arne Jacobsen’s collection of sketches.

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
