Design Arne Jacobsen

This is a range of elegant bed linen in a classic design by the iconic architect Arne Jacobsen. The pattern is based on geometrical play with the Greek letter upsilon, and with its simultaneously stringent and organic expression, it is pleasant on both the eye and mind.

The motif originates from Arne Jacobsen’s hidden sketches that were discovered by Tobias Jacobsen, the grandson of the world-renowned architect. Collaboration with Georg Jensen Damask has resulted in this beautiful design from the 1950s becoming incorporated on the YPSILON bed linen range, which celebrates the design legacy of Arne Jacobsen through its lightness and harmony.

In the colour Grey, the YPSILON bed linen is a delicate addition to the bedroom drawing on a modern Nordic sense of aesthetic with its subdued colour palette. The expression is completed by a Georg Jensen Damask sheet in a solid canvas weave.

The YPSILON design is also available as baby and junior bed linen.

There is also a series of tablecloths, table runners and place mats, similarly derived from Arne Jacobsen’s collection of sketches.

NOTICE! Duvet- and pillow case is bought separately by choosing the wanted sizes.

About Bed Linen:
  • 100% combed Egyptian cotton

  • Wash at 60 °C. White damask products can be washed at 95 °C.

Good advice
  • Unfold product before washing and avoid overfilling the washing machine.

  • You can tumble dry the  product, but we recommend line-drying, it gives a smoother result and it is better for the environment.

  • The first times you wash your bed linen it will crinkle a bit, but it will straighten out gradually the more you use it.

  • If you want a smooth and glossy look, ironing is recommended.

About Damask

Georg Jensen Damask is a culture bearer within Danish design tradition as well as the history of craft. Our history is built on proud weaving traditions since 1756, but members of the family behind Georg Jensen Damask have been weavers all the way back to the 1500s.  The weaving is based on a classic design with a focus on functionality and quality both back then and today.

Throughout times we have worked together with some of the most acknowledged weavers, designers and architects, for example Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz, Andreas Engesvik, Margrethe Odgaard and Nanna Ditzel. Furthermore, we have been involved in several projects with the Royal Danish Court and we are proud to call ourselves Purveyor to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.
