Banquet is a damask-weave tablecloth with an elegant design based on elements of the Renaissance feast. The tablecloth is made from 100% double-twisted combed cotton and features a woven historical reference in the form of King Christian IV’s monogram. Available in two colours. Soft Rose is a delicate shade of pink.
When King Christian IV invited guests to a feast at the castle, it called for a special tablecloth that could serve as the background to a memorable banquet. Georg Jensen Damask’s Banquet tablecloth is a modern interpretation of the iconic banquet tablecloth with an orderly jumble of knife, fork, fruit, fish, pheasant and confectionery motifs. The tablecloth creates an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere for special occasions: a summer garden party, a family birthday or a lovely lunch. The inspiration was a damask tablecloth from the textile collection at Rosenborg Castle. The range also includes tea towels and cloth napkins.
Wash & care
- Wash at 60°C.
- When washing coloured products, we recommend using a laundry detergent developed for coloured textiles and without bleach, to preserve the colours in the best way possible.
- We recommend that you unfold the product fully before washing it and avoid overfilling the washing machine. The product should be gently stretched after washing and hung to dry.
- For a smoother result, we recommend washing the product on a low spin cycle – max. 600–800 rpm. Then hang the product to dry and iron it while still slightly damp.
