Archive Stripe 1976 is a woven tea towel with a distinctive striped texture that gives the design a tactile and characteristic expression. The special rib weave creates alternating flat sections and raised longitudinal ribs, allowing the stripes to emerge through the weave itself.
The tea towel is woven in Georg Jensen Damask’s well-known quality of linen and cotton. The linen provides excellent absorbency, while the cotton adds softness and durability.
In the Sage Green colourway, Archive Stripe 1976 features stripes in green, beige and brown shades.
The design was created by Bent Georg Jensen in 1976 and relaunched from the Georg Jensen Damask archive in 2026.
Wash & care
- Wash at 60°C.
- When washing coloured products, we recommend using a laundry detergent developed for coloured textiles and without bleach, to preserve the colours in the best way possible.
- Before using the product for the first time, we recommend soaking it in cold water for about 24 hours. This will straighten out the fibres and ensure effective absorbency from the start.
- For a smoother result, unfold the product completely before soaking and washing and avoid overfilling the machine.
- The product is recommended to be hung to dry.
- We recommend ironing for a smooth and satiny look.
